What is Pink Vail?
A ski/snowboard day and concert to benefit Shaw Regional Cancer Center's survivorship program (100% of the funds stay local).
Is this a race?
No. Participants can ski their hearts out, chill on Garfinkel’s deck or grill out at Blue Sky Basin if they want. The goal is to simply get sponsors for your day on Vail Mountain.
How do you raise funds?
Just like asking someone to sponsor your walk or run for a summer breast cancer event, you are asking friends and family to sponsor your ski day.
How much does it cost to participate?
Registration is $25/person and includes event credentials (lift tickets not included). Participants are encouraged to raise funds by asking friends and family to sponsor your ski day. The more you raise, the more prizes you are eligible for — and the more our community cancer center benefits.
How many people can be on a team?
2 or 200 - as many as you want.
What is the Checkpoint Challenge?
If you are looking for something fun to do during the day, hunt five famous Vail decks between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Pink Vail volunteers will be at the decks to punch your Pink Vail pass, which makes you eligible for end-of-day prizes.
What is Pink Vail Poker?
Visit each of the five Checkpoint Challenge decks and ask for your Pink Vail Poker card. Ski down to Base Camp and the Pink Vail Poker table to play your hand for the chance to win incredible prizes.
What is the Celebration Ski Down?
Survivors, friends and family and those skiing in honor of a loved one are invited to meet at Eagles Nest at 3:00 p.m. (at the top of the gondola). After a spirited rally, this group will ski down Simba into Lionshead Village to kick off the evening festivities.
What if I want to participate in Pink Vail, but don’t have a lift ticket/ski pass?
If you sign up as a Pink Vail participant, but don’t have a lift ticket or ski pass, you can still be a part of the Celebration Ski Down (3-4 PM). Thanks to our partner, Vail Mountain, we have a limited number of foot passes valid for a ride up and down the Eagle Bahn Gondola. This allows you to rally at the top before the Celebration Ski Down. To make sure we have enough passes, you will need to request a pass by emailing us at emily.tamberino@vvmc.com or calling (970) 569-7752.
Do you have to participate in Pink Vail to attend the free concert by Charlie Mars?
The free concert in The Arrabelle at Vail Square is open to the public, but we hope that you’ll sign up to support Shaw Regional Cancer Center.
Shaw Regional Cancer Center is a service of Vail Valley Medical Center, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and contributions are tax deductible as allowable by law. Tax ID #84-0563230.
