Pink Vail Participant
Karen Saitta | People in the Know
On Saturday, March 25, 2017, I will be participating in Pink Vail to support patients and survivors at the Vail cancer center and I need your support! As many of you know, I have skied this wonderful event the last 2 years being a friend of Meg Cindric who was gracious to invite me to ski along with the team. Little did I know I would be skiing Vail in a hot pink tutu and cape-what we will do for money! This year I decided to join the team and help in raising funds for this fantastic cause. Last year our team raised over $9,000 and the event raised over $706,000. The hospitals goal this year is $750,000!
Pink Vail is the world's biggest ski day to conquer cancer. Proceeds benefit all patients at Shaw Regional Cancer Center through improvements to patient care and by funding the Spirit of Survival program, providing all patients the opportunity to receive free exercise training, nutrition coaching, emotional support, massages, acupuncture, outdoor adventures and much more. These unique services can dramatically impact a patient’s quality of life, but are not typically covered by insurance.
It is rare for a rural, resort town to provide such comprehensive care, and, truly, Shaw exists because of generous donors, passionate volunteers and talented clinicians who are dedicated to restoring the health of their cancer patients.
Please support me in this great cause! To make a donation on my behalf and help me reach my fundraising goal, click on the "Donate Now" button to the right. Please click on my name so the donation goes to my goal of raising $1,000. The donation I am told is tax deductible but please check with your accountant if any concerns.
Thank you for your support! See photos from last year below.
Shaw Regional Cancer Center is a service of Vail Valley Medical Center, a nonprofit 501(c)(3). Shaw is a fully accredited cancer treatment and comprehensive breast center in Edwards, Colorado. For more information, visit Shaw Regional Cancer Center online.
Thanks so much-Karen
